Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler! Mardi Gras is a great time for celebration, and with the extended winter we've had there's no better place to enjoy Carnival than on the slopes. This month's drink recipes comes courtesy of a favorite local post-ski refreshment of Belgian style wheat ale with a slice of orange. Combining beer with a greyhound cocktail and PartiStartr® Hangover Helper results in a fruity, citrus adaptation of the Michelada - we call it the Blue Grey Sky. It goes down perfectly with breakfast before the lifts open or when you're back in the lodge when the day is done, all while letting you be your best tomorrow. Fat Tuesday will soon be a memory, but the Blue Grey Sky is a great choice anytime. Let the good times roll, indeed!
Blue Grey Sky - makes 1 serving
1.5 oz. vodka
5 oz. grapefruit juice
0.25 oz. lime juice
1 packet PartiStartr® Hangover Helper
6 oz. hefeweizen or wheat ale
Grapefruit or orange slices and lime wedges for garnish
Combine vodka, grapefruit juice, lime juice and PartiStartr into cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and pour into partially ice filled schooner or beer mug. Slowly add ale and stir gently. Garnish with fruit. Serve immediately.
